On March 3, 2010 Enpark and Dubai Quality Group hosted a Seminar led by Sougata Nandi on the implementation of TECOM Investments Sustainable Development Policy.
The seminar saw the participation of member companies of Dubai Quality Group, interested in learning how TECOM successfully achieved its energy and water savings by implementing and enforcing its own Sustainable Development Policy.

During the two-hour session chaired by Ali bin Towaih, Kannian Shanmugam, Director of Asset Management, explained how the policy document developed by SEED Team helped win the support of the management in implementing sustainable features, which ultimately saved the company millions of Dirhams.
In fact, the accurate and scientific information contained in the document showed clearly the benefit as well as the short pay-back period of solutions implemented by SEED across the free zones and how those not only reduced the operation costs dramatically, but also contribute to create a healthier environment.
Sougata closed the session by stressing on the importance of people and the cultural shift needed in order to implement the policy.

The scope of the seminars, that precede the Emirates Energy Award, is to educate the audience on different aspects of energy savings and their implications on the environment, but also and above all on the low or no cost in achieving LEED certification.
