Dr. Ayesha Abdullah
Managing Director, Science Clusters, Enpark
Ayesha Mohammed Abdullah is the Managing Director of the Science Cluster, which comprises of Dubai Healthcare City (DHCC), DuBiotech, and Energy and Environment Park (Enpark). Ayesha is an 18-year veteran of the healthcare and engineering industries. Dr. Ayesha Abdullah plays a key role in realizing Enpark’s strategic objectives. She is responsible for strategic planning and operations, development of education and research vision, new businesses, and managing strategic partners. In her previous position as Chief Officer at the Center for Healthcare Planning and Quality (CPQ), Dr. Abdullah was responsible for establishing and maintaining healthcare standards within DHCC. She also played a key role in establishing CPQ as a premier regulatory body in the healthcare industry. Dr. Abdullah holds a bachelor’s degree in Biomedical and Electrical Engineering and a PhD and M. Phil in Strategy Management/ Planning Studies.
Dr. Laura Salasco
Executive Director Operations & Performance Management, Science Cluster, DHCC
Laura is the Executive Director Operations & Performance Management of the Science Cluster, which comprises of Dubai Healthcare City (DHCC), DuBiotech, and Energy and Environment Park (Enpark). Laura is a business leader with 20+ years’ experience in different industries and roles. She worked for 17 years at Unilever, covering a number of positions in both functional and general management. During the last 6-7 years she was based in the Venture Capital division, where she was the founder of two Unilever-branded start-up consumer services companies as, respectively, Operations Director and Chief Executive Officer. Previously she worked in Corporate Affairs, Corporate Quality and Research & Development. Since 1997, in parallel with her main roles, Laura developed her expertise in Business Excellence. This led to 10 years’ experience as EFQM Excellence Award Assessor and culminated in joining the Executive Board of the EFQM (European Foundation for Quality Management) in 2007, as Director of Awards & Partnerships. She joined Dubai Holding in late 2008, initially based at Tatweer as Director of Business Excellence, and subsequently at TECOM in her current role.
Ahmed Ali Lootah
Senior Manager, Business Development, Enpark
Ahmed looks after the Enpark cluster in general, supervising the core sales and marketing processes. In addition, Ahmed works on adding value to Enpark-registered companies by facilitating collaboration with Sustainable Development division of TECOM Business Parks and assisting new companies with larger business development plans in Enpark. Ahmed also acts as Enpark’s main focal point when interacting with government bodies that are relevant to sustainable technology companies. This is with the aim to develop important relationships with government departments and always be up to date with the latest regulations that promote sustainable development practices.
